I went and got the blog all behind again! It was a really busy week last week getting ready for Linc's 1st birthday party. Then of course we spent the long weekend doing the actual celebrating. THEN my stupid computer got a virus. However, I am back and I am going to go ahead and post all the days I've missed so that I'm all caught up. I will try to do better!
The first picture is a collage of Linc's 1st birthday cake smash. I was so excited about doing this shoot! I ordered a $25 cake, I shopped all over for the right color blanket, we waited until the lighting was perfect and of course Linc just wasn't feelin' it! I told Grant before that he probably wasn't going to smash the cake b/c he hates getting stuff all over his hands. He wasn't really that enthused about eating it. Oh well, I still love them! (178):
And that completes Lincoln's monthly pictures! Here he is one month to one year:
Don't worry though, folks! That cake surely did not go to waste in our house! This was all that was left of it the next day. It was really good! (179):

Linc's 1st Birthday Party: (181)
Ange and I busted our butts to get ready for Linc's birthday party. We got up early Sat. morning and didn't take a break until almost an hour after it started! It was worth it though, it was a lot of fun. Angela and Clayton started making fruit kabobs, though toward the end Clayton got bored and mom took over. I think they turned out pretty darn cool.:
Food, food food!:

After he blew out his birthday candle (he practiced and practiced) he continued to blow at the cake:
Lincoln and Uncle Clayton. Linc is such a little water bug!:
You know it is a good party when the birthday boy ends up dancing pantless on the table tops!:
When we put Linc down for his nap the next day, Grant put in one of his new Clifford dogs that he received for his birthday. Linc was having a hard time falling asleep and was fussing, standing, sitting, tossing and turning. Finally he spotted the dog sitting in the corner, crawled over to it, grabbed it, and took him back to the other side of the crib. He then threw his arm around it and fell right asleep. It was the cutest thing! (182):
For those of you that don't know, Lincoln was born on the 4th of July. So his birthday celebration kept on going all weekend! We spent it back at Grandpa George's house.
Playing in the hose:
We debated about what to do about fireworks. Linc usually goes to bed between 7 & 8 and the fireworks don't start until almost 10 b/c of DLST. We decided to go ahead and wake him up for them and we are so glad we did! He LOVED them. He had a huge smile on his face the entire time and kept looking around giggling gleefully and making sure we were all seeing what he was seeing. Those fireworks also inspired him to do something that I have been trying to get him to do since he was 8 months old: clap! That is right, he wanted to show his appreciation for what he was experiencing so badly that he put those two little hands together and clapped, clapped, clapped!
We got Lincoln a toy chest for his birthday, but before that we were just using his play mat to keep his toys in. It sits right in front of where I work on editing pictures and for some reason instead of walking around it (there is lots of room) he feels it necessary to crawl over the toys and under the first over hanging bar and then over the second over hanging bar. This often can cause him problems b/c it is not that easy to navigate over all those toys. So here the goofy guy is trying to get himself out of the mess he put himself in (185):
"Mom stop taking pictures and help me!"
Linc loves steps! He knows how to back down them, but he would much prefer to WALK down them. Unfortunately for him, he can't accomplish this without some help. So he will stand at the top of the steps and hold his hands up waiting for someone to give them their hands so that he can walk down them. He usually will just stand their waiting for quite a while. We spent some time playing with the bubble wands that we forgot to put out for his birthday party and Lincoln spent some more time in his pool(183):

It was funny b/c when he woke up the next morning and he was sleepily nursing with his eyes closed, but he kept putting his hands together and clapping. He is such a trip!
And the very next night I caught his new skill on camera as he clapped for his bedtime story. (184):
